Board of Management

Andrew Rowland

Andrew grew up in Somerville and attended high school at Mount Erin College in Frankston, where he forged strong values of organisation, clear communication and honesty.

He has been involved with 3RPP basically since birth. His grandparents were vital in establishing the station at the beginning and this passion has been passed on through the family.

In the past he’s presented popular music shows, produced announcements and assisted with technical maintenance. He is also trained professionally in radio announcing and voice overs by Melbourne Radio School. He currently looks after the production team ensuring sponsors’ announcements go to air, podcasts are uploaded and has just completed writing the organisation’s policy manual. He is also involved with the technical team and planning the new studios and marketing of the station.

Andrew’s career away from radio is primarily focused around sales and business. He is involved with real estate in the local area and has just completed his full estate agent licence and hopes to open his own agency soon..

When he isn’t working, Andrew enjoys going to musical theatre, travelling overseas, in particular New York, attempting to learn Spanish and visiting antique shops.

Ellice Viggers

Secretary

About 18 years ago I was approached by British immigrants and people interested in the British culture and history who felt that their ethnic needs were not being represented on radio. Thus Mersey view evolved. It is called Mersey view as I originated from the town of Widnes on the banks of the river Mersey in England and the program reflects my views on life. The program covers the whole of the United Kingdom namely, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and includes music of all genres from folk, pop, music hall, etc, from all four corners of the British isles, plus music from France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Russia. The latter genres being included as in the present day United Kingdom much European music is now featured as more and more are holidaying or even living in Europe and commuting to the UK.

The program also features history, nostalgia, stories etc from all parts of Great Britain. Permission has been granted from ‘Best of British’, ‘This England’ ‘Yours’ magazines to reproduce articles and items of interest for the listeners of Mersey View. The BBC and angel radio are also linked to the program. Whenever I visit Britain I am invited to participate in BBC radio programs and promote 3RPP and my program.

On the last Wednesday of the month I also present the ‘Irish’ program which was originally done for many years by Eleanor Roberts under the title of ‘Daniel O’Donnell and friends’. This program covers only Irish music or Irish artists.

I have been involved with 3RPP since April 1984 both as a presenter and committee of management member and have been a life member since 1992.
